Training Ride

Doing a training ride at the mo. Managed 100 miles followed by 90 and got two shorter days coming up, pretty tired but was ok. Survived rubbish weather the first day but defo need a new raincoat! Also broke a spoke (happened in Italy last year too) so will need better wheels. Considering the possibility of using the aluminium rockhopper I have at the moment, it might be fine. Started in Edinburgh, camped in Peebles after a short evening ride, camped in the Lake district near Penrith (100 miles) then staying in Leeds (90 miles). Got about 140 to go in the next 2 days both are half days and might be leaving the tent in Leeds to save weight.

... Update: Broke a couple of spokes in rear wheel so had to buy tools to fix it - need better wheels for main ride, otherwise bike is perfect. May use it unless I can get a steel framed one. Using aluminium specialized rockhopper. Think disc brakes are a good idea, will have to hope they don't break but should be OK

... Update: Finished ride, no more problems, think distances are realistic
